About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Lumberton, NC, Ming Moon II offers an authentic Chinese dining experience that delivers both comforting classics and flavorful surprises. From the moment you walk in, the inviting aroma of sizzling spices and freshly cooked dishes sets the tone for a memorable meal. This local gem shines with its extensive menu, showcasing a variety of traditional favorites that have clearly been perfected over the years.

One standout is the Sesame Chicken Combo, a harmonious blend of tender, crispy chicken glazed in a sweet and nutty sesame sauce that practically melts in your mouth. Patrons often complement their meals with the quintessentially refreshing Ice Water, striking a perfect balance to the rich and savory flavors on their plates.

The appetizer selection at Ming Moon II is a delightful journey through textures and tastes. Whether you’re crunching into a crisp Spring Roll ($2.00) or savoring the delicate flavors of Fried or Steamed Dumplings ($7.95), each bite is a testament to the kitchen’s attention to detail. Fan favorites like BarBQ Spare Ribs ($9.25) and Crab Rangoons ($5.95) add a smoky, indulgent flair to the meal, while the generous Pu Pu Platter ($17.95) is perfect for sharing and sampling a bit of everything.

For those looking to explore beyond appetizers, Ming Moon II’s Chow Mai Fun varieties deliver delicious stir-fried rice noodles with options ranging from the exotic Singapore Chow Mai Fun to the luxurious Lobster Chow Mai Fun, each bursting with freshness and expertly balanced seasoning. The Moo Shu selection is another highlight. Whether it’s the savory Moo Shu Pork or the succulent Moo Shu Shrimp ($14.25), these dishes wrap tender fillings in thin pancakes, creating a playful yet satisfying bite.

What truly sets Ming Moon II apart is the genuine passion evident in every dish, echoed by delighted customers like Douglas Hemingway who praises the "shrimp fried egg rolls and chicken on the stick," and Fariel Graham, who raves about the food being "so so so so good" despite the unassuming appearance of the restaurant. Rachel Jackson’s experience with the Sezwhan with vegetables and tofu captures the culinary finesse here — "remarkably good" and definitely a dish she plans to revisit.

The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, making it an ideal spot for families, friends, or anyone craving honest, well-crafted Chinese cuisine without pretension.
